Spring on the Farm

May 12, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

$2

Spring on The Farm:

May 12th and 13th at The Henry Breeding Farm. The event runs from 9 am- 1 pm both days.

Spring on the Farm brings back 19th century farming and domestic life skills to a new generation of children. This is Bartholomew County Historical Society’s Signature Educational program, now in its 16th year. This unique hands on experience, presented by BCHS mentors and Hauser Junior High School 7th and 8th graders, highlights farm life from the years 1880-1920 and is open to all area schools. We have many great activities such as open fire cooking, steam engines, gas engines, rope making, hand tools, butter churning, spinning/weaving/rug hooking, farm animals and more! Special demonstrations of musical presentations will be offered at times throughout the day.
Children will love the opportunity to learn from their peers in such a rich environment!
